With a cleverly engineered design, the Lenovo ThinkServer RD550 offers generous storage density and I/O connectivity—giving you the performance and capacity of a 2U system in a slim 1U design. The RD550 offers a total of up to 12 front drive bays, which can be used for data storage or accelerated performance. Two additional enterprise-class M.2 solid-state drives (SSDs) are available as an option for secure booting, as well as SD card options for hypervisor booting. Industry-unique Lenovo AnyBay design allows multiple storage types in the same drive bay, including front-accessible NVMe PCIe SSDs for ultimate performance.

With its 22-core Intel® Xeon® processors E5-2600 v4 series, the RD550 has a dynamic environmental design and can run at 45ºC continuously—with no impact on reliability. Other high-reliability features include ECC memory, hot-swap hard-disk drive and SSD capability, and hot-swap and redundant power and cooling.

Centrally automate discovery, inventory tracking, real-time monitoring, fault detection, and alert handling over the lifecycle of your servers with Lenovo XClarity, a best-in-class enterprise management tool. A mobile option enables you to securely monitor your systems from Android and iOS devices.

Additionally, the RD550 offers a suite of intuitive administration utilities for configuration and deployment. Lenovo XClarity Energy Manager is available for optimizing your server power consumption.

Highly Flexible I/O

The RD550 supports up to 5 I/O slots for customer choice and flexibility. Leveraging the unique Lenovo AnyFabric design, the RD550 can house up to eight 10Gb Ethernet ports—without consuming PCIe slots. This compact server even supports an option for four 10Gb Ethernet ports with two 16Gb Fibre Channel ports at the same time, without consuming any PCIe slots—an industry first.
